Yasmin vs. medroxyprogesterone?

Hi, I am getting married on 15th of July, and it will be in my period, the last few days though,! a Gyn doctor has advsed me to take Yasmin so that I ont get my period untill after the wedding, and another has given me medroxyprogesterone to take it and shift my period befor my wedding. If I have to start the latter, it has to be soon. can you plz give me an answer quick? I would appreciateit! thanks ps: I have never used pills before and I am 22
