At what age do rabbits start "slowing down"?
Hello. I've owned a lot of rabbits, and all of mine were still very active at 2 years old. I have a rabbit right now who is 7 years old, and she runs around and plays like she did when she was young. Most of my other rabbits slowed down a little at about 4 or 5 years old. Is your rabbit on a good diet ( hay, pellets, leafy greens ) ??? They need proper nutrition to stay active. They also can become lazy from being overweight, or not being able to run around and get exercise. In my opinion as a rabbit owner, i think a 2 year old rabbit should still be pretty active. Another idea is trying to give your rabbit things to play with. My rabbit loves cardboard tubes to run through and chew on. I also took a bunch of cardboard boxes, taped then together, and cut little holes in them big enough for her to run through ( so it's kinda like a big maze ). There are all kinds of things you can make cheap, for a rabbit to play with. Maybe your rabbit is just bored. Try giving it a few new things to play with, and see if that helps. Good luck to you and your bunny :-)
