Would it be weird to buy a blank NHL jersey (no name/number of player on the jersey)?

I really want to have a Devin Setoguchi jersey but it is too expensive and with the NHL, as well as any other sport, you dont know what will happen to a player the next season. Would buying a blank jersey be a stupid or smart idea?
