Rental property flooded overnight. Landlord says sorry you cant live here, find somewhere else.?

I woke up to inch water across entire floor in every room due to heavy rain overnight which spills out of roof spouting right by front door. I phoned landlord and with help of neighbour moved everything out of the house to neighbours garage. Landlord says today that sorry but we have to find other arrangements because it will take 2 months to repair (dry carpet?). He said he will give reference and bond back. We have a 3 year old girl virtually no money and no where to stay. The neighbour kindly let us bunk up on his couch lastnight. Is the landlord entitled to arrange something for us or are we just out in the cold?
