Catholics: Can I buy and download very cheap music which is not illegal but the legality is debated?

The legality is not clear. You are paying for them, from a Russian company, and it's not a violation of copyright law. However, the Western Music Industry puts up a fight and claims they're illegal. I'm gonna do it unless it's explicitly illegal. That would be morally acceptable, right?
